How do I enroll in MedShift?

To use MedShift, you must complete the enrollment process by creating a profile which includes entering
personal demographic information and qualifications. After you submit your profile, your manager will review it.
Once approved, your profile will be activated and you will be able to log in and begin using MedShift. If you
attempt to log in before your profile is activated, you will receive a message indicating
that your account is
awaiting approval and to contact your unit manager. You will also be notified of approval via e-mail if you
provided a valid e-mail address in your profile.
Can I access MedShift from outside College Station Medical Center?

Yes, as long as you can connect and browse the Internet, you can access MedShift from anywhere (home,
library, etc.) Launch your Internet browser and enter https://csmedcenter.concerro.com/ in the address/URL
bar. It is important to not enter a “www” when entering this web address.
Can I access MedShift from work?
Yes, simply go to any PC with Internet access and connect to the Intranet. Find MedShift on the Inside
College Station Medical Center
homepage, under Nursing, click on MedShift.
Do I need to have an e-mail address to use MedShift?
An e-mail address is not required; however it is helpful so that you can receive e-mail notifications when shifts
are awarded to you. Ultimately it is your responsibility to check back in the system to see if you were
awarded a shift.

Is the information I provide MedShift kept confidential?

All information entered is strictly confidential. Only College Station Medical Center managers and/or manager
designees can view the information you provide. At no time is it made public or available to unauthorized
personnel.

How is my profile/demographic information on MedShift used?

The information related to you is used to determine which departments and types of shifts you can view or
request. Certain information is used to contact you about a shift that you requested.
Can I request shifts through MedShift if I am not a current College Station Medical Center employee?

In order to use MedShift, you must be a College Station Medical Center Health employee. If you would like to
become an employee and use MedShift, please log onto www.csmedcenter.com.
Can I sign up for shifts in departments other than my home department?
Yes, as long as you meet the qualification requirements for the shifts (i.e., your skill set matches the
requirements for the department in which you would like to work), and you have already been scheduled for
your minimum scheduling commitment in your home department. Shifts requested through MedShift may not
conflict with your regularly scheduled department shifts.
How soon can I begin requesting shifts?
You may begin requesting shifts once your current manager has approved your profile. After your profile has
been approved, you will receive an e-mail from MedShift administration notifying you that your account has
been activated (if you provided a valid e-mail address in your profile). The next time you log in you will see a
menu from which you can request shifts.
How do I request a shift using MedShift?
Once you log into MedShift, click on “All Shifts.” You can request any shift for which you are qualified by
clicking on the shift. You will then be taken to that shift’s detail page. Click “Request this Shift.”
Please note that requesting a shift does not mean that you will work the shift. Your request will be reviewed
along with all other requests and the manager or manager designee will award the shift. If you are awarded
the shift, you will be notified on your MedShift main page and via e-mail.
Can I retract my request to work a particular shift?
Yes. As long as the shift has not yet been awarded, you can retract your request.
How do I see my scheduled shifts in MedShift?
After logging in click on “My Calendar” and click on the “Scheduled Shifts” bubble on the display panel on the
left. Scheduled shifts will be viewable on a schedule-by-schedule basis after the director or designee has
approved the schedule. Staff members can choose to view their shifts in monthly, weekly or daily format.
What if I request a shift and it is awarded to me, but I can no longer work those hours?
Once you are awarded a shift you are considered scheduled for that shift. It is important that you are available
for all the shifts you request, and that they do not create any conflicts with your regular department’s schedule.
Remember, all awarded shifts are considered scheduled shifts and are subject to attendance, cancellation,
and any other applicable policies. If you have been awarded a shift and now cannot work that shift, you
are responsible for finding an appropriate replacement with director or director designee approval.

Can I sign up for shifts even though I haven’t yet worked my regularly scheduled weekly hours?

Yes. As long as you have been scheduled for your minimum required hours in your home department, and the
shifts you request don’t conflict with your regularly scheduled shifts. You are expected to work all of your
scheduled hours.

What happens if I request two shifts with overlapping times and I am awarded one of them?

If you have requested 2 (or more) shifts that overlap and you are awarded one of those shifts, MedShift will
automatically retract your request on the other shift(s).
Can I request a portion of a shift?
Yes. Staff members can request a portion of a shift in select units. Please note the reason for your request in
the comments section.

How do I know whether or not I was awarded a shift?

It is your responsibility to check back in the system to see if you were awarded shifts you have
requested, and to report to work for those shifts.
You can monitor the shifts awarded to you by logging
onto the MedShift main page and clicking on the “My Shifts” tab. If your request for a particular shift is
accepted, you will be notified via e-mail (if you provided a valid e-mail address in your profile). If you are not
awarded a shift, you will not be notified by e-mail, however you can log in and click on “My Shifts” to see the
shifts you were not awarded. Once a shift has been awarded, it will be removed from your list of shifts
available through MedShift.

What should I do if I am awarded a shift?
If you are awarded a shift, you are expected to report for work as scheduled. If you have any questions about
the shift or department, contact the department manager.
Do shifts awarded to me through MedShift affect my employment status or benefits eligibility?
No, additional shifts awarded through MedShift will not affect your employment status (full, part-time or per
diem), or your benefits eligibility denoted by that status. Only a requested and approved change in hours will
affect employment status or benefits eligibility.
How will cancellations and floating occur with MedShift?
Cancellations and last minute floating due to patient census fluctuations may still occur and will be subject to
the same policies as are in place prior to the use of MedShift.

How do I make changes to my profile?

You are able to change your demographic information by logging onto MedShift and clicking on “My Profile.”
For changes to any other information, including home unit, level of care, and skills, contact your home
department manager to discuss what you need changed.
Who can I contact if I have questions or problems with MedShift?
If your password does not work, click on the “Forgot Password?” link on the login page and follow the prompts.
If you are still unable to access MedShift, contact your unit manager. If you have any questions regarding
requesting shifts, eligibility, and rules of MedShift, click on the "Guidelines" or "FAQ" links located at the top
right of the page under Help.

Home unit per diem employees will be scheduled by their director. Per diem employees must be scheduled
and/or awarded 24 hours in a 4-week schedule period before becoming eligible for any offered incentives.
