Africans have a relatively high prevalence of sickle-cell anemia. Europeans have a relatively high prevalence of cystic fibrosis. Both traits are genetic (i.e. hereditary) and quite harmful. One would expect them to eventually die out. Why, then, according to Diamond, do Africans and Europeans have these genetic traits? Hoozah for Britain and her institutions!
